Miami (OH) vs UAB Bahamas Bowl Bets

1. Dylan Hopkins – Passing Yards: Over 172.5 (-114)

UAB quarterback Dylan Hopkins has been inconsistent in the pocket lately, averaging just 134.8 passing yards in his last fo ur starts. That has a lot to do with the Blazers' run-first mentality, but I can still see the senior gunslinger hitting the over on this prop. First of all, the RedHawks' pass defense is below average, giving up 21.6 completions (No. 107) and 241.1 passing yards per game (No. 86). Secondly, Hopkins has also gone over this prop in four of his last seven games, showing that his arm is solid when given a chance. Considering Miami's run defense is decent (144.5 rushing yards per game, No. 51), UAB could be forced to get a little more pass-heavy than they usually are.

2. Mac Hippenhammer – Receiving Yards: Over 66.5 (-114)

Mac Hippenhammer had a solid regular season, hauling i n 52 balls for 726 receiving yards with a career-high 8 touchdowns. Although the RedHawks wideout has a tough test against a UAB secondary that only surrenders 202.3 passing yards (No. 28), I still believe that he can hit the over on this prop. Hippenhammer has gone over 66.5 receiving yards in each of his last four games, averaging 15.9 yards on 23 receptions in that stretch. Assuming that pace continues, he'd only need to haul in about four catches to hit the over'- something he's done in nine of 12 outings this fall. With the Blazers also allowing an average of 235 passing yards in their last three games and the RedHawks likely playing from behind, there should be enough opportunities for Hippenhammer to nail the over.

3. DeWayne McBride – 2+ Touchdowns (+160)

It's no secret that DeWayne McBride has been one of UAB's best players in 2022. The junior running back has found his way into the end zone 19 times in 12 games, improving on his 13-TD total from last season. What's even more impressive is that he's recorded five multi-touchdown games this season, including two in his last four outings. Though Miami's run defense has been solid for the majority of the year, opposing backfields have averaged over 219 rushing yards in RedHawks' last three games, whereas Ball State RB Carson Steele just had a 180-yard, two-TD performance against them. As long as UAB feeds McBride the ball, a pair of scores isn't outside the realm of possibility.
