Thursday's NHL Playoffs slate includes an exciting Game 5 showdown between the New Jersey Devils and Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes have jumped out to a 3-1 series lead after they won Game 4 by a score of 6-1. They will now have a chance to advance with a victory inside PNC Arena.

1. Jordan Martinook – Points: Over 0.5 (+112)
The Hurricanes' depth has been on full display in this series as seemingly every player on the roster has stepped up at some point. The most surprising effort has come from Jordan Martinook, though. Martinook did not record a single point in the first round of the playoffs, but has now tallied at least 2 points in each of t he first four games of this series. The 30-year-old is certainly taking advantage of his time on the ice and has logged 3 goals to go along with 6 assists so far. This is a prop bet that could cash before the third period gets underway.
2. Nico Hischier – Shots on Goal: Over 2.5 (-135)
The Devils' backs are against the wall and an improved offensive outing is likely their only chance at survival considering Carolina has found the back of the net at least four times in every game of this series. It wouldn't be surprising to see New Jersey pepper the net all night long as a result. Nico Hischier started this series off quietly, but has now posted at least 4 shots on goal in each of the last two games. He has also logged at least 3 shots on goal in nine of his last 12 games overall. Backing Hischier to score a goal at +230 odds is an enticing option here as well.
3. Frederik Anderson – Under 26.5 Saves (-122)
This series has seen Frederik Anderson tally at least 27 saves only once and that came when he posted 28 in a 6-1 Game 2 victory. While the Devils are likely going to do whatever they can to get pucks on net in this matchup, the Hurricanes have shown a willingness to pull Anderson if he is not excelling. That's exactly what happened in a 8-4 Game 3 loss for Carolina. A brilliant performance from the 33-year-old seems unlikely considering he has racked up less than 27 saves in 13 of his last 20 games played overall. Expect Anderson to finish just short of this mark.
