The World Baseball Classic returns this spring with 20 countries competing, including stacked squads from both the Dominican Republic and USA.
This is the fifth World Baseball Classic all-time. Japan won the first two tournaments in 2006 and 2009. Dominican Republic won in 2013, while USA won in 2017. The tournament was originally supposed to come back in 2021, but was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The teams are broken up into four pools of five teams each. Preliminary rounds will take place March 8-15 in Taichung, Taiwan, Tokyo, Japan, Phoeniz, Arizona, and Miami, Florida.
