The PGA TOUR heads from the last stop on the Florida Swing to Austin, Texas for the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play at Austin Country Club. This will be the seventh and final match play event in Austin as the TOUR does not currently have a 64-man match play event scheduled for next season or the foreseeable future.
This week’s field features eight of the top-nine players in the Official World Golf Rankings, highlighted by world No. 1 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler also opened as the favorite this week at +800 at bet365 as he is the only player shorter than 10/1 at open. The former Texas Longhorn is looking for his third win in five starts after winning The WM Phoenix Open in February and THE PLAYERS Championship in his last start two weeks ago.
Jon Rahm opened with the second-shortest odds to win at +1100 at bet365. Rahm withdrew from THE PLAYERS due to an illness in his last start at THE PLAYERS before the beginning of the second round. Rahm is looking for his fourth win on TOUR this calendar year after already winning the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The American Express and The Genesis Invitational.
