The PGA TOUR heads down I-35 in central Texas from Austin to San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio (Oaks).
With this event sandwiched between the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and the Masters, there are few elite players in the field, but this might mean a better opportunity to cash in on a longshot. Whereas nine players opened at 22/1 or shorter to win last week in Austin, only four players have odds of 22/1 or shorter at open this week at bet365 to win the Valero Texas Open.
Just 10 players in the field this week have qualified for the Masters next week, but a win for any of the other players would punch him a ticket to Augusta National next week. In addition to the current field, four players will qualify for the Valero Texas Open via today’s Monday qualifier (find scores here).
