MLB All-Star Game betting preview, odds and predictions

The MLB All-Star Game, also known as the Midsummer Classic, will bring together the best players in baseball for some exciting action on the diamond. The Home Run Derby has become the main attraction of this multi-day event, and Adam Burke already put together a predictions piece on what we’ll see on Monday, June 10th. However, the game itself is another way to enjoy some light-hearted action and make a little bit of money.

The American League has been dominant in this game dating back to 1988, as the AL has won 27 of the last 34 All-Star Games, with one of those non-victories being a tie. The American League also comes into this year’s game on a seven-game winning streak. With that said, it’ll be interesting to see if the National League can buck that trend. But for now, we should note that the AL is a small moneyline favorite to keep things going.

Last year’s All-Star Game saw the American League earning a 3-2 win in a meeting at Dodger Stadium. Giancarlo Stanton was the MVP of the game, as the New York Yankees star hit a two-run homer that tied the game up. That bomb traveled 457 feet and paved the way for Byron Buxton’s homer to give the AL a 3-2 lead that held for the rest of the game.
