Teams looking to avoid early elimination meet at the 2023 Women's World Cup on Thursday when Argentina takes on South Africa in a Group G matchup. The Argentinians are coming off a disappointing 1-0 loss to Italy after having seemingly sewed up at least one point. A goal by Cristiana Girelli in the 87th minute, however, provided the Italians with three points. South Africa also looked like they were going to at least get one point, taking a 1-0 lead over Sweden in the 48th minute, only to have them tie the score in the 65th minute and the game-winner in the 90th minute.
