2022 Tour Championship Early Picks: Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele Carry Form and History into East Lake

Patrick Cantlay successfully defended his BMW Championship on a new course as he made a clutch birdie on the par-4 17th to take a one-shot lead. He would then par the final hole to close out his first win of the season and move into 2nd place in the FedEx Cup standings. Cantlay will look for another defense next week at the Tour Championship, but will start two strokes back of Scottie Scheffler.

If you are new to the Tour Championship setup, it is the most unique event of the season as everything players have done up to this point factors into their starting point in the field of 30. Scheffler, as the top player in the FedEx Cup standings, will start at 10-under, while Cantlay will begin at 8-under. That continues down the line to the last several players in the field, who will start at even par. It creates a unique event intended to reward the best player of the entire season, but it also makes for several different betting markets.

We will need to be sure of what we are betting as we go into the week at East Lake Golf Club, but there will be value to be had.
