2022 NFL preview: Tennessee Titans futures, Super Bowl odds, predictions and best bets

Who had the best regular-season record in the AFC last season? The Bills? The Chiefs? The eventual AFC champions the Bengals? No, it was the Tennessee Titans, courtesy of their 12-5 record and head-t0-head win over Kansas City. It’s easy to forget that now because they wasted the huge opportunity they had earned by losing at home to Cincinnati in the divisional round, but it happened. It really was a costly loss for the Titans, because the circumstances that led to them getting the #1 seeding for the playoffs despite their shortcomings are going to be ha rd to replicate.

The Titans impressed everyone by not throwing in the towel when Derrick Henry got injured and still negotiating a path to a 12-5 record. It won Mike Vrabel the Coach of the Year award. But they had Henry back for the playoffs and blew their big chance. Titans fans will be thinking they have a great opportunity to do it again if they get a full season of Henry, but things don’t always work out that way.
