The Jaguars began the 2021 season as the team with the worst record in the NFL and they ended it the same way. In between a heck of a lot happened. The wild days of the Urban Meyer era are behind them now, though, and normality should be restored under new head coach Doug Pederson. The recent underachievement has handed the Jags a lot of smart young talent from the draft, with 2021 first overall pick Trevor Lawrence joined by this year’s first selection Travon Walker.
It’s probably best not to expect a sudden return to glory for the Jaguars, but the madness of last season probably disguised to some extent how good their roster might have been under more normal circumstances, so a season of steady improvement would no doubt be welcomed by all concerned.
