2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds: Jets running back Breece Hall ends short holdout

New York Jets rookies report to training camp today and second-round running back Breece Hall will be there. Hall had been holding out and was the only Jets rookie yet to sign a contract,'but will do so today. Hall is a +800 third favorite to win 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors at Caesars Sportsbook, behind only Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett (+600), who probably won't be the Week 1 starter for Pittsburgh, and Falcons receiver Drake London (+700).

This marks only the second time in the last five years the Je ts have their entire rookie class under contract for the start of camp.

Hall was a monster at Iowa State, winning back-to-back Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors in his final two seasons and being named an All-American in both. He was the second two-time consensus All-American in Iowa State history, with running back Troy Davis being the only other Cyclone to do so from 1995-96. Davis was a 1997 third-round pick by the Saints and never amounted to much in the NFL.

Hall broke numerous Davis records at Iowa State and has the most career touchdowns (56), rushing touchdowns (50) and multi-TD games (20) in school history. The Jets took him at No. 36 overall, a minor surprise considering they drafted North Carolina running back Michael Carter in the fourth round of the 2021 draft, and he performed pretty well when healthy. Hall is expected to be the Jets' lead back this year with Carter in a more complimentary role, perhaps as the third down receiving back.
