2022 NFL MVP odds: Packers' Aaron Rodgers yet to land big bet at sportsbook to win record-tying fifth MVP

While something could change by the time the Green Bay Packers kick off their season at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, two-time reigning NFL MVP and four-time overall winner Aaron Rodgers has not garnered a single wager of at least $1,000 at Caesars Sportsbook to win it again this year. There have been 108 total bets of at least 1K overall on the MVP prop. The Pack are -1.5 against the Vikings.

What's even more surprising that Rodgers hasn't gotten a single big bet is that every other NFC Nor th quarterback – Minnesota's Kirk Cousins, Chicago's Justin Fields and Detroit's Jared Goff — has received at least one. There's basically no chance that Fields or Goff win.

If Rodgers were to win, he'd tie Peyton Manning for the most MVPs. The only other player to win three straight MVPs was the guy Rodgers replaced: Brett Favre (1995-97; shared '97 award with Barry Sanders).

Clearly, bettors are down on Rodgers' chances because the Packers traded arguably the NFL's best receiver, Davante Adams, to Las Vegas in the offseason and didn't really replace him at least with veteran talent. Instead, Green Bay took North Dakota State wideout Christian Watson in the second round of this year's draft and Nevada's Romeo Doubs in Round 4. Watson missed the entire preseason and camp with a knee injury but is practicing this week and should play Sunday. Doubs had some bright spots this summer but also a lot of drops.
