2022 college football win totals: Kansas Jayhawks with lowest total in nation again at over-under 2 victories

Congratulations again Kansas fans on your national championship in college basketball, because it looks to be another long football season in Lawrence. For the second straight year, the Jayhawks have the lowest Over/Under win total of any team in the nation at Caesars Sportsbook, set at 2.0 victories for 2022. Both options are -115.

Under then-first-year coach Lance Leipold, Kansas was 2-10 last year. One victory was a 17-14 win in the season opener at home over FCS school South Dakota, but the second w as quite memorable: 57-56 in overtime at Texas. Kansas went for two after it scored a TD in overtime and QB Jalon Daniels found fullback Jared Casey in the end zone for the game-winning conversion.

It was KU's first win over an FBS opponent since Oct. 26, 2019 vs. Texas Tech (37-34). It was also the first conference road win for the program since Oct. 4, 2008 at Iowa State (35-33). The 57 points were a school record for any road game.

Leipold's team definitely improved as the season went on because after knocking off Texas, KU only lost by three at TCU and then by six at home against West Virginia to close the year. A majority of last season's two-deep returns for Kansas, led by the QB Daniels. That Texas game was his first start of the year, which earned him starts in the season's final two games. Daniels completed 81-of-117 passes overall (69.2 percent) for 860 yards with seven touchdowns and three picks while rushing for three scores.
